BMW and Toyota OEM damper bolts are grade 10 and Torque to Yield, designed for one-time use. While this is adequate for factory power levels, these bolts fall short when power levels are increased. ARP  has observed damper bolts coming loose and breaking, leading to engine and crank damage, as well as improper torque load between bolts. Tools required: 3/8″ 12 point socket and torque wrench.

Tighten the balancer bolts to 80 ft/lbs using ARP assembly lubricant
