When building high-power BMW engines, one major performance bottleneck is the exhaust VANOS system. Because the fuel pumps are driven off the exhaust cam, the added load puts significant strain on the camshaft, making it difficult for the VANOS to adjust timing effectively. Even with increased oil pressure, the system often can’t achieve the desired exhaust cam advance.

Without addressing this issue, the exhaust VANOS tends to retard cam timing under load resulting in a noticeable drop in power and efficiency. Our VANOS modification eliminates this problem, allowing the engine to maintain optimal timing and deliver consistent performance.

This modification requires your tuner to reset the new bottom limit, timing is done like factory.
